So far, we have discussed the first two stages of negotiation, preparation and discussion. We also explored cultural perspectives in negotiating. The ultimate goal is win-win. Business interactions are highly formal. In my culture, this is the norm. Let's proceed slowly so we can build a relationship.

Dan Poston, a professor and dean at the School of Business, shared his experiences with negotiation. In fact, the longer you sit and listen, the more often they reveal additional insights you need to succeed in the negotiation.

In the next lesson, we will move on to the next stages of negotiation: making proposals and counter-proposals. This is what many people think of as bargaining, where specifics are discussed back and forth. In any case, we always hope this stage leads to the agreement stage.
